Fitness Fuzion was created to bring about a full body health plan. What makes us unique from other plans out there? We take into account past and present injuries and muscular imbalances present within the body.

 

.:Balancing Act

The body’s muscular system works in different planes when an injury has occurs the body adapts and overcomes pain by creating a new neurological pathway using different muscles to come about a similar bodily movement. In doing so, we create additional imbalances in other parts of the body. I.e. Upper back pain can be triggered by hunching in front of a computer all day. In this position the chest (pectoral’s) muscles are in an overly contracted state, and the antagonists (rhomboids) are in an eccentric (overstretched) pattern. A plan would be designed to balance this taking both a strengthening and stretching component to regain balance.

 

 

When the muscular system is compromised all other systems are compromised. If you take the same example as above: Being hunched over makes it more difficult for you to take a full breath into the body. So respiration is diminished. This in turn affects the circulatory system. Less oxygen entering the body can be carried around the system. Decreasing circulation can create numbness, tingling, and even cold limbs. The lymphatic system is not as capable at circulating the body’s lymph. Lymph does not have its own circulation pump like the vascular system. It is moved through muscle contraction, manual (massage therapy), and partially through circulation and respiration. Metabolic waste will then be backed up and has to no way of being eliminated through the body. Pain can be inflicted, swelling, sickness and disease is easier to overtake you. As you can see everything is affected. This is only a small segment to give you an idea of how the body is interrelated.

 

A Plan of action for the example above would be to strengthen the eccentric (overly stretched) muscles, and to regain flexibility in the concentric (overly tight) musculature. This will bring the shoulders back into a more correct alignment, open up the chest region to regain the ability to take in a full breath, and so on for the rest of the systems that were compromised previously. We also will have established a baseline strength plan for the full body, a flexibility guide, cardio plan, and a nutritional recommendation guideline to support the full plan if you choose to add one.

 

That is a basic over all idea, but since everyone is not the same we cannot do a cookie cutter approach like other people do. We take into count past and present injuries, and will try and identify the cause of the postural distortion through pictures you will send to us or a reading we can do in person depending on where you live. We will help bring about individual awareness as to what is perpetuating the causes that are being displayed in you as an individual. What specifically you are doing on a daily occurrence that is inhibiting you from your job or at home. It could be a repetitive motion, or as simple as a wallet in a pocket.

 

Too many individuals and medical practioners try to fix the problem by where pain is exhibited. This I feel is backwards thinking. The root cause of the problem needs to be identified first. Together I will ask specific questions and we will investigate the possible causes of what is causing your pain.

 

 

.:Pain Medications

Ever go to a doctor because of pain only to be handed muscle relaxers or addictive pain pills? Again this is an instance of trying to fix the symptoms and not the actual underlying issue. Sure, sometimes this approach works or helps the individual gain momentary relief, but in doing so the root cause never really gets fixed. Maybe a year or two down the road once the body has adapted to the new way of going about its business the issue is dormant and a new pain problem arises. Well the individual forgets the old issue because they have a new perpetuating factor. So they go get medications for the pain problem to get it ‘fixed’. Well year after year of going about fixing your body in this way morphologically changes your muscles and bone structure. Pulling tendons from muscles, stiffness in other areas, creating hyper mobile joints, or overly stiff joints, and many other issues you will deal with as you age.

 

 

.:Other Types Of Therapy

Why is massage, personal training, physical therapy etc. not indicated in such a situation? Sometimes it is, but for the most part everyone is looking for that quick fix. Some people are too lazy to go through and really try and discover what is going on in their body. They walk around abusing, and using their body in ways it never was intended for. Yet they are quick to complain to everyone about their nagging issues. I have discovered some people enjoy complaining, they like sympathy, and like the attention they receive from their debilitation. Others I find are clueless that there is help out there they just don’t know how to go about getting it. Some people have tried everything: Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, Massage therapists, and received no relief they feel utterly hopeless. If you happened to come across a bad therapist it doesn’t mean necessarily the therapy itself does not help. It’s like any career field. Some people go to work to get a paycheck; others’ go to work for the passion they feel behind it and in helping others’.

 

 Here’s a little background about me. I have been through physical therapy 3 times in my past for my back. I was born with scoliosis, and I have a unilaterally cracked disc in my lumbar vertebrae which I was fortunate enough to inherit while I was in the military. I would spend 45 minutes to an hour in a physical therapy clinic, wasting my time, I feel. They attached little electrodes to my back with a heating element laid on top; shut the lights off closed the door told me to go to sleep for 15 minutes. Yes, it was relaxing, but they were fixing the pain and not coming up with a solution to my underlying cause. I also tried Chiropractic care. My initial and only experience was blah to say the least. I was cracked on cold muscles and ended up in more pain afterwards then what I was in before. Don’t get me wrong I am not saying those types of therapies are bad, I actually tell my clients it is good for them, I just had bad experiences. I lately tried a new type of physical therapy more manual therapy based. It did get my lumber spine back into proper rotation and my pelvis a bit less torqued. Since I do have scoliosis however, I have a permanent debilitating structural disorder that will bring me back to where I initially was not being able to bend in my spine but only at the L4, L5 region. I would have felt a lot better if I completed therapy if they gave me the tools to take care of myself. If I had the flexibility, strengthening, or even a movement therapy I could do from that point forward so when I felt things coming out of alignment I knew how to get them back.

 

 

.:Power To Help Yourself

Having the power and knowing how to help your self is priceless. Most individuals are money hungry and I know we all have bills to pay but Fitness Fuzion was created to help people help themselves. Give the individual the freedom from their on-going pain and not let days go by waiting to get into a doctor’s office to get ‘fixed’.

We apply a balancing act identifying the cause, a strengthening component to weak areas, and a lengthening, and stretching component to overly tightened muscles.

When you have the tools and confidence to take charge of your body it in turn affects your confidence and your whole well-being, increasing your self-esteem, and placing you back into control of your life.

 

While showing you how to regain control we will design a plan with a progression component. Everyone has a starting point. Wherever you are at is your own place in time. Not to be compared with the next person. The plan will initially have the pain identifier, muscle balancer, flexibility guide, and meal recommendations. Once you have completed the initial plan we can progress you to an intermediate level. Switching strength plans every four weeks you will track your own progress which we will discuss in further detail with you. Through your own tracking we will be able to identify what needs to change, where improvements have been made, and keep working with you towards the overall goal whatever that may be.

 

If you don’t really know how to establish goals we will show you how. Big goals and small goals can be formed and obtained which in-turn are used as progress points. This helps to keep you on track gives you reinforcement you are accomplishing something and boosts your self-confidence.

 

 

.:On-Line

Through online support you can e-mail us your pain issue with as much detail as you can recall. We will then try and work with you backwards to identify where and when it began. Factors that perpetuate it and we will research and try and identify what the root cause is. Once we can detect the cause we will provide a plan of action to get you back to optimum. Our goal is also to teach you about your body so you understand what is happening.

.:Weight Loss Support

Some people feel like they just can’t get that nagging weight off. They have tried countless programs only to fall back into their ruts. Others have been led to where they are by health problems, stress, emotional issues, etc. They have been torn down or lack the motivation possible or even are confused and helpless as to what to do to gain back their sense of control.

 

People find food as a number one sense of enjoyment. In doing so they feel like they are in control and really they are not. This overflows into other aspects of their lives; into their work, family, friends, etc.

 

Some people are closet eaters they won’t eat in front of others, but gorge behind the scenes, only to tell everyone they just don’t know why they can’t seem to lose weight.

 

Other’s looked at food and found it as a source of all evils. If they eat they’ll get fat, if they eat carbohydrates they’ll get fat, if they eat fat they’ll get fat. I’m sorry we are all put on this Earth to eat. Eat in moderation. There are way too many ridiculous diets and misconceptions about food. People are so confused about what healthy means. We are not nutritionists but we can make healthy meal recommendations suited for each individual based on your specific needs. We will show you the optimal times to eat certain foods to support the weight, flexibility, and cardio plan we put together.

 

 

.:GYM Or Home

We can put together plans based off your own equipment you have at home or have at your own disposal even if you don’t have a gym you can go too.

 

Some people don’t feel comfortable in a gym setting when initially dropping weight because they feel they will be the center of attention and looked down on.

 

If you read the success story on Amber Riddle you will see if you have the motivation and desire we can help with the rest. We don’t need to start with extremes to get you going just a gradual change plan to get you going. Remember we develop full lifestyle changes and not one person can change their whole being or existence in one day.

 

 

.:Massage

Through massage I create a plan to support your lifestyle goals or needs. I do a full body assessment determining what imbalances exist in your body for free at your initial appointment.

 

After we established the muscular imbalances we address where pain resides in your body. We begin to map a picture of your specific pain patterns based off of daily activities including at home or at your job. I will try and find the initial root cause. I then draw up plans as to what muscles will be worked based off of Janet Travell and Simmons medical research as to which muscles are probably the primary causes of the distortions and pain being displayed.

 

I have seen numerous people who have had pain problems persist for years’ and gain relief after one 1 hour session. I’m not saying this will happen with you, but anything is a possibility.

 

No one should have to live with pain, hopelessness, and low self-esteem.
